Terms of Service
These are the basic terms for using MyDost. This is a working draft, not final reviewed legal terms.
The service
MyDost is a platform connecting travelers with local hosts, guides, and hangout companions. MyDost does not itself provide guiding, transport, accommodation, or any other service listed by a local — we connect the two sides and provide the trust, safety, payment-holding, and dispute-support infrastructure around that connection.
Accounts
One account type for everyone — you can be a traveler, a local, or both, on the same profile. You must be 18 or older. You're responsible for the accuracy of what you post and for keeping your account secure.
Bookings and payment
Paid hire bookings are held by MyDost and released to the local once the booking is marked complete, minus our commission (15% by default, which may change — any change applies going forward, never retroactively to an already-accepted booking). Hangouts work the same way now that they carry a small fee. If a booking is disputed, it's held pending review rather than auto-releasing.
Cancellations
Either side can decline a pending request. Once a booking is accepted, cancelling it is a trust and safety matter handled case-by-case — repeated late cancellations can affect your standing on the platform.
Prohibited conduct
Using MyDost to arrange something other than what's listed, harassment, circumventing verification, creating fake accounts or fake references, or using anything other than the in-app camera to submit required photos (profile, ID, selfie, license) are all violations that can result in account removal.
Liability
MyDost connects travelers and locals; it does not supervise, guide, or insure any in-person meeting arranged through it. Use the safety features provided (verification, SOS, location sharing, references) and your own judgment.
Changes
We may update these terms as MyDost grows. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date once this is a published, versioned document.
